A Gathering with Purpose

On a bright Thursday morning, the California Group of Schools Conference Hall came alive with the sound of greetings, Qur’anic recitations, and warm smiles. The day’s theme, Youth & Good Morals, was more than just a topic — it was a call to prepare the next generation with both knowledge and noble character.

The program opened with an inspiring welcome address by Academics Manager, Abdirahman Ibrahim (Zeylici), who reminded attendees that education at CGOS is a balance of academic rigor and moral guidance.
The keynote address was delivered by Sheikh Mohamed Halike, whose speech drew from the Qur’an and the Sunnah, emphasizing that young people are the backbone of any society. He quoted Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:
“I was sent to perfect good character.”
Sheikh Halike challenged students to be beacons of morality in their communities, stressing that integrity, humility, and discipline are as important as academic success.
Throughout the event, students and staff reflected on the relevance of moral values in today’s fast-paced world.

Discussions centered on:
- Respect for teachers, parents, and peers
- Upholding honesty in academic work
- Digital responsibility and manners
- Being role models in the community

Board of Directors representative, Mohamaud Ibrahim, gave the closing remarks, commending the students for their attentiveness and eagerness to learn. He reinforced CGOS’s vision to nurture future leaders who are intellectually sharp, morally upright, and spiritually grounded.
At California Group of Schools, we believe true success lies in a balance of faith, academics, and values.
